To become a member of the GPA Questions ask yourself: “Am I, myself, a citizen of the world or a Global Citizen anxious to contribute whatever I can to the best of my ability to assist in helping our one and only planet continue to survive in all of the beauty we now enjoy? Am I anxious to join with like-minded people globally to achieve this goal?”

Here is Larry Diamond’s definition (references available)  of a ‘Civil Society’ which is what is used in the Global People’s Assembly. “‘Civil Society is distinct from ‘society’ in general in that it involves citizens acting collectively in a public sphere to express their interests, passions, and ideas, exchange information,  achieve mutual goals, make demands on the state, and hold state officials accountable. Civil society is an intermediary entity, standing between the private sphere and the state.  Thus, it excludes individual and family life, inward-looking group activity, for-profit making enterprise or individual business firms, and political efforts to take control of the state.”
