One Hundred 100 years On

The War to End All Wars, later called The First World War,  ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of November 1918. 17 million people had been killed and 20 million wounded.

The Peace Treaty, the Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919 at which time The League of Nations was created. In 1933 Adolf Hitler became the Chancellor of the Weimar Republic and abolished democracy, repudiating the Treaty of Versailles

The Second World War began in 1939. This global war was the deadliest in human history. Up to 85 million people were killed. 

On August 6 and 9 in 1945,  the first atomic bombs in history were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, killing between 129,000 and 226,000 people. 

 The United Nations was formed on October 24, 1945. The United Nations Charter was drawn up in San Francisco, on April 25, 1945.

 The Declaration of Human Rights was signed December 10, 1948. 

The World Peace Prayer Society was founded in Japan in 1955 and awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2017.   

Global email invented 1960 – 1970. 

Rev. Martin Luther King awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. 

The World Wide Web was invented in 1989. 

The European Union was formed on November 1, 1993 and awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2012.

In 1997 The Global People’s Assembly’s first appearance at the United Nations. 

Doctors Without Borders were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999. 

January 1, 2001 – Economic Globalization becoming accepted with the amassing of extraordinary inorganic money, that is money unrelated to the needs of humanity   

The United Nations and Kofi Annan were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2001.

President Jimmy Carter awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 

Wangari Muta Maathai was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2004. 

Al Gore was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 President

Barak Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009.
